Between Small Places (2024)

documentary film / 19:55

What does home mean if you don't have a physical house to live in?
The homeless American writer Brian has been roaming the streets of Amsterdam for years. Far from the place he once grew up, he philosophizes about the concept of ‘home’. On the go, on park benches and by the empty children’s pool where he settles down, he lovingly takes care of his environment.

This short film follows him, while he looks at society from the sidelines, a society that often does not, but sometimes does see him. In the voice-over, he expressively tells what a sense of home means to him and which encounters, experiences and people contribute to it.
